Elizabeth Phillips Rees, mother of Eliza Rees Picton and
mother-in-law to Stephen Picton

First Generation

1. Rees Howell, of Caerlleon, was buried in Llanwinio Parish Churchyard, Carmarthenshire, Wales.

Rees Howell, married Bariah Howell, of Rhyegoch, probably in the Llanwinio Parish Church in 1767, but the record is lost. Rees and Bariah were probably some level of cousins. Bariah is such an unusual name that it may appear in descendants and be a way to connect them to her. Bariah was buried in Llanwinio Parish Churchyard, Carmarthenshire, Wales.

They had the following children:

+ 2 F i Phebe Howell was born in 1772. She died in 1820, at the age of 48.
3 F ii Mary Howell was buried in Llanwinio Parish Church, Carmarthenshire, Wales.
Mary married another James Phillips, on of Rhydgoch on 26 Mar 1793 in Llanwinio Parish Church, Carmarthenshire, Wales. (This was a double wedding with her sister Phebe above. This James Phillips was the uncle of the James Phillips who married Phebe. With all of these Jameses, will we ever understand) James Phillips was buried in RhydyParc, Eglwys Fair a Churig, Carmarthenshire, Wales.
