Golden Grove Manuscript
The Golden Grove Manuscript is in the Carmarthen Record Office. It is a series of pages of early Welsh genealogy. This is the Picton page which starts with Sir William Picton and Sir Phe/Phillip Picton. William was the original owner of Picton Castle and the castle went to his daughter's line. Philip is the head of our line. Some say that William and Phillip were brothers, but there is no evidence of this on this genealogy. Some notes and questions are added in italic.
The descendants of Sir Phe/Phillip Picton are currently known as those of Nevern, Newport, and Whitechurch. Other Picton lines originate with church records and begin much later. DNA is the way to connect them all.
